Carpenter / Restoration Tradesperson
About Us
Mishap Solutions is a Milwaukee-area restoration and renovation company built on a simple principle: we do the work ourselves, and we do it right. No volume games, no flipping jobs to subs — just skilled, honest craftsmanship on residential restoration and remodeling projects. We're a small, tight operation and we take pride in that.
The Role
We're bringing on our first full-time Carpenter to work alongside founder Eric Mishefske on residential restoration and renovation projects. This isn't a helper position — we need someone who can show up to a medium-complexity job site, read the situation, and execute without needing their hand held through every step.
You'll be doing real work: trim, framing, structural repairs, finish carpentry, and general restoration tasks across single-family homes in the Milwaukee metro.
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of hands-on carpentry or general construction experience
- Comfortable working independently on a job site
- Solid foundational skills across rough and finish work
- Attention to detail — our clients expect a high standard
- Reliable transportation and basic hand/power tools
- Good communication; you'll interact with homeowners occasionally
- A work ethic that matches the quality of the finished product
Nice to Have
- Experience in residential restoration (not just new construction)
- Familiarity with older Milwaukee-area homes
- Any crossover skills in drywall, painting, or general remodeling
What You Get
- A flexible schedule
- Work directly with the owner — no middle layers, no corporate nonsense
- Consistent work on varied, interesting projects
- A chance to grow with a company that has a real reputation in the community
